Some last information...

Well I've gone from a very cool apartment in Beverly Hills to a small bug infested cabin in the woods. I am currently surrounded by my bug net and I can't count the amount of mosquitoes in here.

Last Sunday I was very lucky enough to be invited to the Much Music Video Awards. My friend Katie and I went and although we weren't standing by the red carpet or the stage...we were in the party with pretty much all the celebs. Justin Beiber stormed through with huge body guards as 40 year old women were throwing themselves at them. Whitney Port also made a quick appearance amongst others. The highlight of Katie's night was probably hanging out and having a VERY lengthy conversation with Luke Schenn (from the Toronto Maple Leafs) and his brother. We also chatted up his girlfriend who was really sweet and ended up even going out with them later that evening! We later also got pictures with Kimberly from Nip Tuck and Dan and Jesse from the MTV After Show. I think the HIGHLIGHT of the night though when I finally saw Kristin Cavallari who REMEMBERED ME, gave me a HUGE HUG and a kiss on the cheek to top it all off. She was even being escorted out by my friend Karlee from LA is it was a fun little run in. The last surprise of the night was Vanessa Abrams from Gossip Girl who was WONDERFUL and BEAUTIFUL and more probably along the lines of weird-ed out by the amount of times we told her how much we were OBSESSED WITH HER.

Well if you haven't seen my 15 second clip of myself on the Hills yet, it is season 6, episode 9. To my embarrassment all the staff have already watched it here at camp (although really I think it is pretty hilarious). So does this mean success in the 'making it' portion of my blog? Not really...but somewhat of an accomplishment...

Home

Well my trip to LA has finally come to an end. I am desperately struggling to get use to the time change here at home. My last weekend was fantastic. I really could have not asked for anything better. After my last day of hanging at the store Saturday I ran home (with my friend Chloe who returned a day early) and got ready for a night out with the girls from the store and some other wonderful people I have met along the way. We had dinner at Dantana's which was beyond fun and super hilarious as we squished as many people we could into the smallest tables. Kevin Connolly ate around the corner with a girl who looked so much like Mandy Moore in her days circa Princess Diaries/Stupid Cupid. (She looked so much taller then him even while sitting down). After we shuffled over to Truesdale where we had organized a booth and for a handful of other people to join us. I had a GREAT time, especially because even the non-party go-ers of the group came out and had a great time.

Saturday, Chloe and I had a late lunch at the Ivy and had a quick shop around Kitson. I left Chloe to venture around Robinson (she ended up WALKING home...crazy girl) and I went to my friends house around the corner. This girl housed me my first few days here so it was sort of a nice end of my trip to spend my early evening with her. I broke down and sobbed saying goodbye (as expected by me) and I could barely get a grip of myself.

On a happier note, that night Chloe took me to her friends birthday in Room 64 of Chateau Marmont. It is the top penthouse suite where Britney Spears and Colin Farrell were once caught smooching. The view was incredible as everyone sipped champagne and ate Sprinkles cupcakes.

It was an INCREDIBLE last night and a pretty painful morning waking up early to catch my flight home.

Well I had 61 days to make it or break it and clearly I didn't make it but I don't think I broke it all down either. I know how lucky I am to have gone on this trip and the people I have met and the opportunities that have presented themselves along the way have all left wide open doors of possibilities for me in the future. I have definitely learned the ins and outs (and the do's and don'ts) of the fashion world as well as many of the back stories of the reality world (just ask for details). I know how to get started in the industry and what contacts I need to hold onto.

In the end I am returning with heavier luggage, some extra tan lines, some great new friends, and a celebrity sightings list as long as the distance traveled from LA to Toronto. I can't be sure that I will continue this blog. You may get one or two more posts before I take off to camp. I may start a new one, or I may not. I have really enjoyed the journey and I thank you all for reading it and for coming on this journey with me! I am currently at 742 page visitors which I am BEYOND amazed at but I am going to assume that 70% of that was my mother. I am sorry for my horrible spelling and my run on sentences but I doubt this will be publicized into a book any time soon so please stop sending me e-mails about it (haha).

Well even though I am home doesn't mean the celebrities have to stop, right? I am going to the Much Music Video Awards this Sunday (as well as the after party)! I will definitely tell you how those go and if Kristin Cavallari remembers me from the store! Speaking of which...I am almost embarrassed to tell you that I think next weeks episode of The Hills may be the episode I am in. I am at The Colony at the same time as them and at the store...Thankfully I'll be at camp by then so I won't be able to see it right away. Tell me how my reality debut goes!

BEST EPISODE EVER

Oh ya, that's right, I am officially on The Hills. It was a VERY early start to my morning as they set up the lights to film an episode of the show. I had a microphone attached to me in case the girls ever needed to interact with me. It was pretty hilarious to be honest since I didn't want to stare at them the entire time so I doodled for the most part. I don't even KNOW if I will make it on television but it was still pretty fun to take part in as well as listen to. Steph Pratt, Lo Bosworth and Kristin Cavallari all come into the store to look for a present for Audrina's birthday. I was desperately trying not to laugh the whole time but Steph is really funny. They were all very sweet and polite. I don't want to give TO much away but I can't WAIT to see the episode. I am a little worried about that 'camera adds ten pounds' ordeal but whatever. Let's just hope Jessie from the Aftershow doesn't take that magic wand of hers and draw all over my face on national television - if you even know what I am talking about.

Tonight is my last night with one of the girls which I am SUPER bummed out about. We are going to dinner at Dominick's which was the first place I ever went to when I arrived. So it will be a little bitter sweet. I am sure my night will end in waterworks.

I am, though, really looking forward to tomorrow night. All the girls will be meeting up at one point after dinner and we are going out to the usual spot. Normally many of us bail out pretty early but I think tomorrow will be one of those exceptions. I have started my brutal packing and I can guarantee my bag will be labeled with one of those "heavy load" stickers....brutal.

Well I have two days left and it's not like I will be miraculously picked up and thrown into a movie but I have done well for myself as a reality star store clerk. HAHA.

It BETTER be tomorrow

It has been QUITE the eventful start to my final week here. After Emily left, my fabulous friend Chloe arrived that afternoon. We did much of the usual; Rodeo, the store, and out for dinner. That night again we had connections to go out which turned out to be a pretty hilarious night once the Jersey Shore showed up. Oh ya, everyone BUT Snooki and The Situation. I was heartbroken. Regardless I got a picture with Sammi Sweetheart and Pauly D who both matched the colour of my brown leather jacket. Nice.

The next day Chloe took off to San Diego (and I saw Matthew Morrison from Glee - yummy) and my friends and I organized my going away dinner for Saturday at Chateau Marmont which I am thrilled about!

It's going to be an early morning since The Hills said they will be coming by to film before the store even opens. Let's hope they don't back out last minute because I am going in at the crack of dawn to help clean before they film. I have a feeling my final few days here are going to be interesting!

Malibu

Last night Emily, and I were taken by my friend to watch Casablanca in the cemetery by Paramount. Now as sketchy as my mother thought it sounded, apparently it is very much the cool thing to do. We lined up a good 45 minutes before and I can honestly say their were about 200 people before us and about 300 after. Everyone packs a picnic and we were in shock how everyone went silent as the movie started...unlike our group who had a mad case of the giggles.

It's amazing just how small this world really is to find that one of the people sitting beside me would be at my summer camp's sister camp in a few weeks and that we have a) friends in common b) the same jobs and c) both our names sound very much like Olive. His name was Oliver. You don't understand how weird it was. Apparently I was the only one who thought it was beyond strange. He could have sat ANYWHERE in the entire cemetery. ANYWAYS...

Today we road tripped out to beautiful Malibu. It was pretty cloudy for the first half of the day so we shopped around the Malibu Country Mart. Emily managed to spot Suzanne Somers on our trip and although we could not think of her name at the time, we managed to figure out her name by typing in "blonde actress who uses non FDA approved drugs to stay young." Gotta love Google.

We then headed to the beach for the rest of the afternoon once the sun came out...

                                                                       Emily and I in Malibu!!

Emily leaves tomorrow morning after a pretty eventful weekend and my friend Chloe comes tomorrow afternoon! It is officially my last week in LA...time is ticking.

Crop Tops

Yesterday may have taken the cake for wild days in Hollywood. My friend Emily finally arrived and we spent our day walking around Rodeo and eventually made it back to the store. Within the ten minutes of arriving, mayhem broke out. Lock the doors, Lindsay has arrived. Well looks like Emily is going to be thrown right into the middle of the Hollywood scene on her first day. Fasten your seat belts. I have been WAITING for this day since one of my first nights out when I was originally suppose to meet her. Anyways, as she shopped around the store, we chilled on the chairs and chatted with Ali Lohan who really is quite funny and really sweet.

We had locked some straggling customers into the store so when it started to get busy I began to help out where I found myself in the stalk room with Lindsay where (what I now think is hilarious) had a discussion about finding the perfect crop top - I pointed her in the direction of Club Monaco, they are making some great CT's right now. On a side note - I would like to dedicate that conversation to the house of 286 William, both new and old. I know you would all be proud.

Eventually the paparazzi discovered Lindsay's location and swarmed the front of the store, to which I show you my proof. Not a very fortunate picture of Emily and I (we are holding my friend's dog), but here is the long awaited picture of me and LILO:

AMAZING, RIGHT?

That night we decided to go out in Hollywood to this new club that is 'Hampton's' inspired. With a quick line skip we were surrounded by random old school Disney child stars, Jesse McCartney (who looked 40) and the ENTIRE HILLS CAST who were filming and episode (minus Spencer and Heidi to my disappointment). I would say it was quite the eventful first day and a great first impression of Hollywood lifestyle - to which I rarely do. Going out all the time I have realized is so tiresome so when you do pick and choose the days to go out, they make them so much more fun. Day two of Emily's visit and I think we need some sunshine and some SPF.

Upgrade

Well the countdown has really begun as I come to the end of the road. I haven't had internet for a few days and I have been feeling guilty for leaving everyone hanging for so long. Anyways, I am to exhausted to argue so when my crazy landlord said she needed my apartment to give to someone else and she would move me to a better one in the same building, I didn't argue. And let me tell you, it is! It's on the second floor, I actually have a view of the street and it's much brighter and larger! So I really have nothing to complain about.

Memorial weekend left the store fairly deserted and we kept ourselves entertained by playing boggle. I don't think you understand, but I love boggle. According to the online scores I am cleaning up the charts. Except for this Melanie character...if you're out there, I will take that number one spot.

Okay well enough of the threats. Monday night my friend took me to a Memorial day party. Everyone their somehow works in the 'web series' department of the 'acting/production' world. After hearing some of peoples ideas/blogs/series and checking them out the next morning, it is a really cool idea to get your face out there. Blogging is the newest source of fashion influenza and I think Web Series might take over the next big motion picture. My friend has a really fun web series coming out and I will share you all the link when it is up and running.

After the little backyard barbecue we went to the Roosevelt hotel for a party which was jam packed with people. It was a very cool place and you were surrounded in what seemed like a pool a Hollywood stars. Of course I almost take out Shane West. What is it with me and unintentionally bashing into celebs? I have personally harmed or came close to harming more celebrities then myself on this trip. Tough life.

One of my GREATEST friends from high school is coming in for the weekend and I can't wait to show her around! It's suppose to be hot and sunny so hopefully her visit will lead to long hours on a beach somewhere trying to improve my tan!

TV debut!

Well today was definitely an interesting day at the store when Lala Vasquez, former MTV VJ came into the store to film her reality show. My friend had NO intentions of being filmed, so apparently I just made my first TV debut as a store clerk! Well it really wasn't that exciting and I kept thinking to myself, 'camera adds ten pounds, suck in, don't look directly into the CAMERA!" Well that last note failed when they tried to film me solo behind the cashier desk and I looked straight into the lens. Let's hope my really awkward and embarrassing face doesn't make the cut...oh god.

The other day I also had my first paparazzi experience although they were not after me...but I did manage to find myself on Just Jared in the background clearly laughing at the same thing Sophia Bush is finding hilarious...

Let's say AMAZING. The store was completely dead as it is Memorial Day weekend down here in the states. I am actually suppose to be up in Minden, Ontario this weekend preparing for the summer as a Camp Counselor (oops). I had a quick speaker phone chat with my fellow staff/friends which made me all the more excited about my return. I am actually glad that I have such a wonderful job to return to because I know how hard it is going to be to say goodbye to this place. The weather is finally as nice as it is back home so let's hope it keep up!

The Ladies Barber Shop

Yesterday was nothing but boring in Beverly Hills! I was helping out around the store since it was an extremely busy day. Many of the girls' friends stopped by and one of them made a very funny comment on how the store is like a man's barber shop but for ladies. It totally is the Beverly Hills hangout; people come in and out all the time, whether you are a regular customer, just stopping by to say hello, or to hang out and waste your afternoon surrounded by fabulous clothes!

Prior to the peek business hour in the afternoon the girls casually dropped a bomb on me which they found hilarious because they didn't think I was going to react that way. I mean, they knew I was Canadian but they didn't exactly expect me to turn the color of that giant purple dinosaur when they said Mike Comrie would be stopping by. For those of you who are not avid hockey fans, he plays for the Edmonton Oilers. Well I made a b-line for the stalk room and hid in there but was quickly found...by Mike Comrie. Wonderful! Luckily my face had calmed down a little and I even managed to have a conversation with him. We chatted for a bit and some Canadian jokes were cracked when I turned on the heat that day instead of the air conditioning - he had my back on that one. Anyways he was SUPER nice and I've got to say H. Duff is a really lucky girl to have him. I considered asking if he knew the relationship status of Colton Orr but I thought that would be pushing it a little. sigh.

Also Joanna Garcia came into the store at the same time (she played Chace Crawford's girlfriend on G.G. at one point) and was possibly the sweetest person ever. She hung out for a while - she is a good friend of the girls - and gave me a hug before she left and wished me luck withe everything. HOW SWEET IS SHE? Anyways, I know adore her.

Who knows what will happen today but I've had a slow start to my morning so I must be off!

OH, and apparently I almost took at Mila Kunis yesterday when chasing my friends dog down the street. What is with me and trying to take out celebrities? Apologies Mila, I didn't see you.

Freaks to Freaks

This past weekend my Dad came out to visit me. It was really nice having him out here and we were able to do some exploring together since I haven't really gone much farther then Beverly Hills and Hollywood. We went down to Venice Beach and checked out all the freaks and body builders and watched people with strollers lining up to apply for medical marijuana. We then drove out to Malibu, had an huge brunch and did some shopping. We drove pass the Pepperdine University Campus and it was AMAZING. Every inch of the campus has a view of the ocean and it is just spectacular. Although it almost looks to amazing...a little bit like Disney World where everyone is happy-go-lucky and walks around in salmon coloured pants with zoo animals printed on top. Besides that, apparently it is extremely religious. Now, there is nothing wrong with that at all but after talking to a handful of people, it's like the extreme opposite of Venice Beach. Maybe a bit cult-ish?

I am realizing everyday how much time I have left and although I am SO excited to go back to CAMP, there is so much that I want to do before time runs out.  I know this is an extremely short post but I didn't want you to be waiting around as long for the next one. Time is ticking!

"So Much Cooler Online" -Brad Paisley

Well today was my big day for my head shots! I am not going to lie and say I was SO nervous! Normally I am thrilled when I get tagged in photos on facebook (even though I un-tag about 75% of them - it's like altering your appearance, not physically, but to the cyber world - Heidi should have just done that).

After getting my makeup done, they immediately started shooting. I did three separate looks and I think they all turned out well but I won't really get to see them until tomorrow. I got a chance to analyze some of them after each shoot and it's amazing to see how you translate onto camera. I noticed that my one eyebrow is naturally higher then the other, I have really small eyes and an extremely round head. How great. Well as I was critiquing myself from shoot to shoot I realized all I was really doing was tearing myself down and I wasn't feeling any better about myself as the day went on. But then I realized that if I started doing that to myself then there was no room for anyone else to do it. Now you might be thinking that what I just said is even more twisted then breaking down every inch of what I think is some sort of dis-morphia, but in this business there is ALWAYS going to be something wrong with you that you can't fix (or choose not too - Heidi has permanently scared me out of all plastic surgery, so thank you 'my-size-bride-barbie'). All of these things that I might not like, someone will and maybe what I have is what someone is looking for in a role - apart from my acting skills. So to conclude my day, I like myself as is. I may have large cheeks for all grandparents to squeeze and invisible lashes without mascara - BUT I have great hair and I am a natural blonde so SUCK. ON. THAT.

I really tried to make this blog PG rated but I couldn't think of a better sentence to end that little monologue with. My apologies, mother.

Last night I went out to celebrate Bradley Cooper's ex-girlfriend's birthday - sigh, life can be so hard sometimes - which was a lot of fun. We had a group of girls get together with a handful of cupcakes which no one ate (welcome to LA) and headed off to the bar... OK, well I was the only one who ate a cupcake but it was the size of a two bite brownie, so sue me. Anyways, the only point to this story is that I saw MCLOVIN from Superbad out! He really looks the exact same in person. And he looked very Canadian in his plaid shirt considering everyone else was in a blazer of some sort - WOO representing! I don't know why I thought it was so funny, but I figured I would share it with all of you anyways.

Tomorrow I have my dad coming out to visit me which I am so excited for! Until next time! Also, all of you should download the song in the title of this post. It is hilarious.

It's about time...

I am TRULY sorry that it has taken me this long to update you. I haven't spent much time on my computer lately so I haven't really had an opportunity to keep everyone in the loop!

Well The Hills has disappointed the girls in the store for the second time now by canceling their plans to film. After days of helping re-merchandising, cleaning and re-stalking the store, it was all for a large nothing, although the store has really never looked better.

But on a happier side of things, Sophia Bush came in after her appearance on the Late Show with Craig Ferguson. She was wearing a ring from the store that one of the sisters designed and they did a HUGE close up on it! Everyone was ecstatic and even Sophia couldn't believe they did that either! She is unbelievably sweet and hilarious. Here is a link to the video and CHECK OUT THAT RING, it's real diamonds and it is just insane - my sister would love it. Click Here: Sophia Bush on Craig Ferguson.

I have some friends down in LA right now visiting which has been so fun! It is strange when you are with Canadians because for some reason their is just such a mutual understanding of everything. Also, you aren't interrupted as much. For example, if you step on the heel of a Canadian's shoe, the person whose foot you stepped on will be the one to say, 'sorry'. Well you wouldn't believe how many times in a day people step on your foot because apparently it has just become second nature not to notice! Every time I apologize for anything they instantly know I am Canadian because we say 'sorry' instead of 'sahrry'. (I think I have spoken about this before).

Anyways, my friend Lorne is coming down tomorrow for the summer and I am BEYOND excited to see him. I can't wait to show him around because I really have started to feel at home now and not as much as a foreigner.

On Wednesday I went to a USC party with a friend who goes to school there. I can honestly say it was so much fun and so much different from any party I've been to at a Canadian University. The highlight of the visit though was driving down their street of all the sorority and fraternity houses. This street is essentially the 'Aberdeen' of Queen's and let me tell you...they are COMPLETELY different.

My friend LIVES in the EXACT SAME HOUSE that LEGALLY BLONDE WAS FILMED IN. It is actually a sorority house and it actually looks like that. Their frosh week is called Rush and instead of getting into your 'cover-all's' and getting dirty...you learn to HAIR FLIP.                               I. am. not. kidding.

I mean these are serious mansions with serious rules. Boys are kicked out at 2 am, no boys are allowed upstairs, and their is a point system based on how many events you attend and you must introduce all the girls in your sorority as your sister. I wish I was kidding but this street is filled with miniature White House's - as in mansions with big white pillars. It was like I was walking down a set of a movie. The Fraternities are even COOLER. These boys houses look like modernized restaurants on the outside...but on the inside they have full sized basketball courts, squash courts and look like they should be in a book about modern architecture. They are actually insane. By the way...there isn't just one or two of these houses... it is about three blocks long. If you ever come to LA you need to check it out because it is beyond anyone's imagination. There are also some strange looking ones. I mean one sorority looks like Barbie's dream house and one looks like John Belushi's Animal House.

But here is an example of the boys... AS IF

To bad 34 Aberdeen doesn't look like this.

Anyways, on a note about ME, I am getting head shots done next Wednesday and I am beyond excited! My friend suggested this photographer to me and he looks amazing and has done some very recognizable people. I will post a few as soon as I get them done and you can all tell me which one I should use to send in with some resumes.

I think I will be busy all weekend but I will update you with some fun stories as soon as they happen! I promise I won't leave you hanging for long. On a shopping note: I found leather high waisted hot shorts at the flea market last weekend for $7. I know - you are beyond jealous.

Small World

My short visit to San Diego is coming to an end today. It has been wonderful to lay out, blend in with California crowd and to hang ten on a surf board (potentially this afternoon - if I brave the Pacific Ocean). After this, it is back to reality and to really give a shot at this acting gig.

It is amazing to me how wherever someone is in the world, there is always someone that knows SOMEONE you know. For example, last week I was in the Apple store playing on an Ipad for about a half hour (I want) when one of the 'geniuses' asked me if I needed any help. Well I really did need help with a new Ipod but after a few minutes of talking and an awkward attempt to be my 'guide around Los Angeles', he mentioned an acting class he went to every Tuesday night. Well what do you know, my friend is in the same acting class as him and knows an extension of friends' of hers that I know as well.

I am in the most random Apple store in LA and the genius and myself have friends in common? This is so strange.

Besides all my friends that will be apparently VISITING ME (ahem...EHS girls...) their are a number of people that I have reconnected with down in LA that I haven't had the chance to see in years! It has been great catching up with them and remaking those old friendships.

On top of that I have had a number of friends or people who have reached out to me that are in LA and are from Toronto who do not know many people down here! The craziest connection so far is someone who goes to the same university as me (we have never met) and is in Beverly Hills for the summer as well (unbelievable). It has been so fun meeting these people and making those connections as well because at the end of the day, we can all help each other out ... and have a conversation with someone who won't interrupt you when you say 'eh', 'sorry' instead of 'sahrry', and our apparent 'aboot'.

Need to go even out my tan!

Given a road map.

This past weekend was just about as relaxing as it gets. I stayed in for the most part, didn't party and mostly hung out with friends and family. My cousin and I went out to 'Mr. A Jr.'s' house which resembled that classic movie, The Secret Garden. The view, to begin with, was out of this world, and since they were located at the very top of the hill - with an ocean view, might I add - you would be completely unaware that they had any neighbors. Both Mr. A and his wife were wonderful and welcoming and we ate the most incredible, completely vegetarian, meal with a handful of people and a good round of some pretty hilarious jokes. I think the highlight of the mini-voyage was definitely having a 'home-cooked' meal.

At the end of the dinner, Mr. A sat me down and really helped me figure out where I should really begin with my acting career. I realized quickly into the discussion that I have been here two weeks and although I have loved every minute, seen tons of celebrities and have shook hands with great people who are in the business, I have yet to do anything to help progress, let alone start, my aspiration to become an actor. As we discussed what I should be doing, I felt as though I was getting an inside scoop to the secrets of the business, when really it's like looking for your sunglasses when they are literally sitting on the top of your head. Now I don't want to give everything away because I don't want the rest of you going out and stealing all my roles. Yes, I am a bit selfish. But really he pulled out very normal, weekly magazine, flipped to a section that listed a bunch of TV shows (many of which I recognized), crossed off everything that was shot in New York or outside of LA - as well as everything he thought was personally lame or strange - and said ...

a) Call these numbers and ask for casting
b) Lie and say you are an agent or with casting
c) Ask for an address, send in your resume
d) Lie and say you love their work
and e) Dress the part when they call you in for an interview

...and apparently that was how he got started in the business and even got a handful awards for doing just that. I couldn't believe it was that easy to just hand a resume out when people are going to their wits end just to get represented by an agent. I mean, it's not as though it's by any means easy to get a role, but if you can read the fine print, their are ways to squeeze your way to the front of the line.

I am going to San Diego tomorrow to visit some family where I plan on laying out, working on my tan and essentially pumping up my resume (he also said to lie on your resume - example: he told me to say I could fly a plane just because my dad can...right). At this point though, what I am really looking forward to is the sun! San Diego, here I come!

Awkward Run-ins

My first moment of star-struck-ness kicked in yesterday when I saw Jake Gyllenhaal at a small restaurant post-hike of the Hollywood hills. As I go to take off my sunglasses I can see him waiting for his order to arrive. I do a quick assessment of myself and decide that it would probably be a good idea to keep the shades on (side note: a wise man once told me that girls in big sunglasses are hiding what they truly look like - thanks friend). At this point I looked like an overripe tomato and awkwardly try to slam my sunglasses back onto my face. At this point there is little room for improvement as I am still pretty disgusting from climbing up the side of a canyon (why I going to a restaurant like this, should really be my topic of conversation). By this point my friend has noticed him too and points out to me that I am the only blonde in the vicinity - and with his past record of girlfriends I may be in luck! Well I quickly whip my head around to look at him and he is looking RIGHT AT ME. At this point I am on the verge of passing out (this is the same feeling I got when I once shared that elevator with Kanye).

I had to walk out of the restaurant until he left out the back door with his order. I am such a loser.

On another note of awkward moments, I literally almost took Brandon Davis out while going for a run this morning. He was exiting out of a taxi (from an apparent late Friday night out) and we almost collided. Imagine I had physically harmed a celebrity? I mean, I might as well have just asked his taxi driver to drive over me on the spot or be sued by one of the youngest millionaires in the Northern hemisphere -he is an heir to a mass oil company, and a former ex of Paris Hilton.

Well what a start to a weekend! Tonight I am going out of the Los Angeles area to visit the younger "Mr. A".  They have so sweetly invited me over for dinner along with a handful of other people who I will be meeting upon arrival.

I am still hot from my run because after almost knocking Brandon Davis to the ground, I ran in the other direction to tell you.

The Hills was suppose to be filmed in the store the other day but they rescheduled unfortunately. Hopefully they will do it while I am still around! Hope to have more updates for you soon!

I am not an actor, yet.

It was a beautiful day in Hollywood as I lunched with director Mitch Glazer at the Terrace Restaurant in the Sunset Towers where they host the Vanity Fair after party to the Oscars. I won't lie when I say I was a little nervous and overly excited to meet him. We had exchanged a few humorous messages before we met up and I had obviously done some IMDB searching prior too.

I have my mother to thank for the wonderful lunch for they met...a number of years ago (I won't go aging anyone who doesn't look as old as they do). He was absolutely charming and considering that he is in post production of his own written and directed movie Passion Play (click the link to check out the odd combination of cast members - really interesting), he is clearly busy and doesn't need to be taking some twenty year old out for lunch who is desperately trying to get into the business. But in the end that's really how kind of a person he is. He was sincere in all of his questions and making sure that whatever I do I should run by him first.

I learned a lot about the movie and much about his daughter who is just a bit older then me and is interested in the acting as well. Apparently she recently did a clip on 90210 as the drummer in a rock band.

Speaking of bands, I told him about going to see my friend's boyfriend's band Burn Down the Mission (they are incredible, I suggest checking them out) and explained that how most people I was introduced to in the crowd claimed to be an actor. I was thinking to myself that it is impossible that all of these people are actually actors and I started asking them what they had done (pretty much prying into what was shown on their resume) to discover that they were pretty much self proclaimed.

When asked about what I do or why I am down here I am almost embarrassed to say 'acting' because everyone down here is looking to do the same thing, it is overly cliche and at the end of the day, I am your typical 20 year old blonde that people tend to shovel in and out of auditions like a pooper-scooper. Great.

The only thing on my acting resume thus far is playing the role of a singing/dancing NUN - which I think I did quite well, I might add - but this is not credible enough to hand to any talent agent. I mean, these people aren't actors yet! They might as well say, I would like to be an actor...but right now I am parking people's hundred thousand dollar cars at valet - or at least say you are in school! Why not be honest?  I find it sounds a little snobbish to go around parading your 'title' as an actor as if you just graduated with a PHD in psych at the top of your class at some astound school. I also think people aren't going to want to help you if you just blurt it out. It's like saying you are a millionaire when all you can afford is cheap sushi but you go because its the cool thing to do.

Well that was quite the rant, but I guess what I am saying is that I am not an actor. I can act and would like to be taken seriously as an actor, but for now I am still just Liv from Toronto  -whose love for raw fish is on the higher end of the expenses scale.

Crowd Control

Yesterday was anything but normal when it comes to your celebrity sightings let alone casual run-ins. I went out for dinner with a bunch of girls from the store and a few of their friends. As one girl catches up with Bradley Cooper via BBM to my right, I can see David Spade get into his amazingly-ugly, 20 year old car to my left. At this point I feel like Dorothy ... I am really not in Toronto anymore. Crowd control needs to be executed because apparently my table is getting more attention then Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend is and I can see that he is a little annoyed. Every person who comes around asks me how I wound up with these girls and all I keep thinking is how lucky I am as well. I mean, not only do they know EVERYONE, but when we skip across to one of the new hot spots across the street, we march right to the front of the line, no questions asked, and walk right in.

Molly Sims later comes rolling in followed by Ryan Seacrest (who apparently my friend tried to be set up with at one point - no big deal). Brandon Davis walks by, although I only catch the back of his head, and to apparently no one's surprise but my own, Taye Diggs comes up and gives my friend a HUGE friendly hug and chat away. I can now see Brent Bolthouse (Heidi's old boss - cannot wait to see her in person) - OH, and there is Samantha Ronson behind the DJ booth so my night quickly turns into Lindsay Lohan patrol - apparently she is suppose to be joining us and - unlike the tabloids - is actually a very sweet person!

Just like any lady's guide book should tell you, you must leave when the going is good (not when they turn the lights on and push everyone out the door and reveal what you TRULY look like). Unable to find Lindsay, the girls say that I'll probably meet her another time -(I'm still in shock that apparently I was in the same building as her) we head home.

At this point I am exhausted, not because of being out late but because my brain physically hurts from trying to remember everyone I saw! I have RANDOM people twittering me because apparently we were at the same bar? They want to meet Lindsay too.... uh no.

The most important thing about these girls though, is that they do not let the Hollywood scene get to them. They are level headed, smart, fun and hilarious and always making sure that I am having a good time and are all concerned for my general well being. I really couldn't ask for a more entertaining group of girls.

Well I won't be tapping my ruby shoes to go home any time soon, but I know they have a planned expiration date so I better enjoy this while I can!

OH and I went and got frozen yogurt for Terri Hatcher and her uber-stylish daughter yesterday while they shopped for her daughter's grad. You are welcome Terri.

HOW could I forget?

It's as though I forgot to tell you the world was going to end... I have decided to do the online audition for GLEE!! Check out my competitors on the website... http://www.myspace.com/gleeauditions

So you have got to do a little one minute 'introduction' before you sing and so far I have found most of the entries to be a little...bland. I mean I haven't gone over all 1000 of them but for the most part I want to yell, "CLEARLY YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW ON TELEVISION IS GLEE AND THEY KNOW IT IS INSPIRING BECAUSE THEY CREATED IT BUT SAY SOMETHING UNIQUE FOR ONCE!" So I made my one minute little intro and tried to be 'funny' but who knows, I may just be fully embarrassing myself.

The next part of the audition is obviously the vocal part. Now these walls are paper thin and I can literally hear when the toilet paper roll is being yanked at next door - gross I know, so their is no way I was about to start singing passionately at the top of my lungs. Besides that, I haven't really had any vocal training since high school and it's not like I can naturally sing like Julie Andrews, SO I did some research and found a vocal coach in the area that is going to help me get back on track! (Maybe he'll tell me I'm so bad now, that's it's not even worth it in which case I will just delete this whole post out of pure shame).

So I will let you know when and if I even get around to doing it, and even if you think I suck, I DEMAND A GOLD STAR.

Winter Weather

Well unfortunately I think I brought the terrible weather down with me and the sunny skies went escaping to the north! Although, I am more then willing to cope! I have established a small group of girlfriends that work and hang out in my friends' store. It is literally the local hang out and we spend most of the time trying on all the new arrivals and deciding what they want to send back or not. It is beyond fun - especially when the stylists come in!

My celeb count went up today as I saw Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth filming an episode of The Hills! Kristin and the crew even came into the store later to ask the girls if they can film at a later date! They all knew Kristin and organized a dinner with her for next Friday (envious), after her trip back from TORONTO - cue me in! I piped up awkwardly at the 'Toronto' portion of the conversation and then the girls introduced me to her and I shook her hand. She is SO unbelievably sweet and NOTHING like they make her out to be on the show.

Here is Kristin Cavallari for those of you who are unfamiliar...(believe me I will let you know the SECOND I see Heidi).
She is just as beautiful in person...

So on 'making it' portion of my blog, I have two lunches next week. One with the son and daughter in law of the mysterious "Mr. and Mrs. A" and another with a BIG TIME DIRECTOR who just finished a movie with Megan Fox. Now don't get overly excited because it's not as though I am interviewing for a role or anything, but these people are so gracious to make sure that I am going in the right direction! They want to know about my plan (which apparently I need to sort of make) and what my goals are while I am here! I am graciously looking forward to both!

On another note...SO awkward, but I thought I would include it because I find it amusing and I know you all will too...I have two guys that want to be set up with me and another friend wants to sort of 'introduce me' to this guy next week at her boyfriend's concert. I have NEVER been out on an actual date before so I said no to the first two - especially since my horoscope that day told me that I shouldn't go out on a date with someone based on a pity vote (WEIRD RIGHT? SAME DAY!). Anyways, I am going next Tuesday, luckily I'll have a friend with me so it won't be that strange.

I am really enjoying my time here so far and I hope that these entries about all these people with no names don't get TOO confusing but as I get to know all these people more and more I feel so guilty exploiting their lives all over the internet when most of them aren't even aware. Their are so many more stories I could fill you in on, but right now that's about all I can share.

OH and my sister is sneaky like a ninja.

On my own!

Well it is my official first day on my own in LA and I am very excited. My cousin spent the entire weekend with me, showing me around, introducing me to the most exciting people and made sure that I was well taken care of. I am fully settling into my apartment today, will definitely be doing some food shopping and then I will be getting in touch with some old friends who I haven't seen in FOREVER.

Before I get into anything else, my celeb stories are pretty funny. Derek Hough, from Dancing With The Stars broke out in a full dance routine while waiting in a tanning salon (yes he was in a tanning salon), and one of Ziggy Marley's crew pinched me on my behind while waiting for sushi - so awkward.

Anyways,  I have been forwarded along the pictures with Oscar De La Renta, luckily we took one without me because I have decided to refuse posting the one WITH him - it is just that awful. I also have a few photos of the models playing POLO in the middle of Holt Renfrew. OH SO CUTE.

You have to agree that the photo of Oscar is really adorable.

Well after my food shopping, I plan on going to hang out at my friends' store which is right in the middle of Beverly Hills and a big hit with the stars. They are two sisters who started the boutique and it has been nothing but successful. A few nights ago one of the two were introduced to Rachel Zoe - one of THE top stylist to the stars - which is HUGE and they are hoping she will stop by sometime soon.

It's going to be a good day!

I have ARRIVED!!

Well it is my OFFICIAL first day in LA and let me tell you I am already having a fabulous time! I have not moved into my apartment yet (because the one I wanted isn't available till Sunday - bummer). BUT I am staying with my cousin's friend who is sweet enough to house me until Sunday. The people I have met already live unbelievable lives and know the craziest people - example: Lady Gaga's landlord, all of them are friends with L. Lohan and I have even met someone who dated Bradley Cooper (beyond jealous). I refuse to name names because I feel it to be a little rude and exploit their lives online, but I will still fill you in on all the little stories (filled with juicy details - or as much as possible so you don't go selling these stories to tabloids, haha).

I've already seen quite a handful of celebrities and apparently I no longer am seriously star struck because I casually had a conversation with LMFAO since they were on my flight. My cousin can spot a celebrity 5 miles away, half of who I don't even know! Although I was the one who spotted Jane Fonda at breakfast.

Learning about this celeb culture is so beyond fascinating because most of these people really know most of the celebs and what their personalities are like. Mostly everyone is at Coachella right now which sounds like a ton of fun but I think we may just plan on lying out and catching some rays (my pasty Canadian skin needs it).

I don't have much to tell you at the moment but I couldn't leave you hanging on my first day!! I'm gonna start my celebrity count on the side and we can see how big it gets.

I AM IN SUNNY LOS ANGELES AND I AM THE HAPPIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD!

"Femininity is the escence of a woman..."

I am currently more exhausted leaving Toronto to perform my final presentation then when I arrived sick! It is strange to think that it was suppose to be tomorrow that I was to be going to LA. I am almost happy to have postponed the trip to Friday because I think my stress levels would have been much higher then they currently are at the moment.

It still IS a beautiful day in Toronto and what a beautiful day for the wonderful fashion genius and icon, Oscar De La Renta. For someone who makes clothes for women as a living he can certainly dress himself pretty immaculately as well. His perfectly tailored and his tanned skin (not quite 'Valentino' tanned) only added to how sweet and charming he really is.

He was actually very funny too, speaking about women who come up to him and talk about "the dress I wore last night that you designed in this colour, that falls like this, etc" explaining that his brain was the size of a mosquito and he has no idea what they are ever talking about. He said he can certainly recognize all of his clothing but he can't remember off of the top of his head what he made last season when he is already working on the season two summer ahead - all said through his very cute Dominican accent!

After pushing through all of the Oscar-lovin' ladies, I managed to sneak in, introduce myself and get a picture with him. He looks great in the photo - myself not so hot, which is to bad because I really liked my outfit. After I do some serious 'boosting and contrasting' to the image I'll consider posting the photo...ew. I guess it's like talking the talk and not walking the walk...well the camera is no longer in my possession so I'll post it another time. 2 days left until LA!!

Star Struck

I have already had my first celebrity sighting and I haven't even left Toronto yet! The oh-so-cute Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger were walking north on Yonge Street down by College Street (I don't know what either of us were all doing down there). I later spotted them at the classy restaurant, One in Yorkville.

Now normally I pass out, turn blotchy red and run away at the sight of a celebrity (ask my sister, I am the most embarrassing person to be around - or Kanye - we shared an elevator once and I almost bit off my own hand, passed out from holding my breath and almost went permanently cross eyed). I've already been told by some of my friends that if my celebrity-nerves kick in while I am in LA, I will be in a LOT of trouble. People are apparently just so blasé over celebrities that if I don't keep my cool I might as well have a sign on my back that says FOREIGN TOURIST.

My run in today with my new pals Joshua and Diane (I saw them twice, so we must be buds, right?) was almost like a test from the celebrity gods to see if I was prepared enough for what is in store. I think I passed. I managed to not make a face, make any awkward noises or smile awkwardly... although I did contemplate chasing them up the street. I figured for fun I'll keep a celebrity tally on the side once I get down there.

Oscar Tomorrow!

In the words of Rachel Zoe... I DIE, literally.

Rather then trying to live a fabulous life, I am stuck at home with tonsillitis. GREAT. I hope that none of you ever get it because it is the most uncomfortable and painful sickness in the world. Any other student would be pleased that they had to get their finals pushed back giving them more time to study but unlike ME, it poses a bit of a dilemma.

My 61 days have to be changed to 59! I am so ill that there was no way I was going to be prepared to go for Wednesday. It's not the END of the world, but I am a little crushed and 59 days just sounds a lot more lame then 61...bummer.

But when one door closes, another opens. Now with more time on my hands I have been invited to drinks with OSCAR DE LA RENTA. No. Big. Deal.

Okay so it's not as though he is going to wine and dine me personally but my mom was invited to his private trunk show and I am going to be her 'plus one'. Still very chic...

Oscar De La Renta is one of the most amazing designers of his time. He truly has a classic taste and understands what women want out of their clothing. Just like a child, I run towards shiny objects! Now, I don't go ahead and shove it in my mouth but if it is THAT beautiful I always say it looks delicious enough to eat.

Here is a mix and match of his spring/summer, pre-fall and fall 2010 collections. These are some of my personal favourites!

Alright, well you know what is coming next...WHAT ON EARTH DO I WEAR? I guess what is the most important thing right now is that my tonsils go down because right now they are the size of grapefruits.

Regardless, I am overly excited! I think he is just wonderful and brilliant and above all, INCREDIBLE at what he does.

I'll keep you posted on my outfit decisions soon! Now I am back up to 7 days...let the countdown restart!

Exhaustingly Excited

Well unfortunately as things in my life are starting to look better, my health is starting to crumble. I literally can't swallow and I am physically exhausted! Not a good way to arrive in the sunny Los Angeles! Then again, warm weather will probably do me some good as opposed to this rain and muck. I am chugging gallons of water and trying to sleep it off (as well as take a teaspoon of silver every half hour - right mom?).

On a happier note! I had a WONDERFUL lunch with Mr. and Mrs. A who made sure that I would be well taken care of while I was down in LA. They had just come back recently from visiting their family and told me some fun stories of their celebrity dinner guests (Jack Nicholson apparently couldn't make it - HA). We also spoke a long time about Mr. A's book about ghosts which I was sincerely interested in. He has some of the most amazing stories and they said they even conducted a seance while they were down there (spooky)! None the less- fascinating for me, probably not so much for you.

As the time approaches for me to disembark on my fabulous journey, I am hearing about more and more people who will be down in LA while I am there as well! I am thrilled because I have already created a small social network of friends to hang out with!

According to my countdown I have 7 days, 4 hours, 57 minutes until the day has arrived!

Sorry for such a quick post but my bed looks wonderful and I am about to go dive into it! ADIOS

Fashion Faux Pas?

It has been QUITE the exhausting weekend and my room looks as though a bomb has exploded because their are literally clothes everywhere. Packing is getting more and more difficult because the clothes that I need to pack, all of the sudden I am needing to wear! We have basically missed spring here in Toronto and have gone straight to Summer! Now I am not complaining but this made my night out to Toronto Fashion Week extraordinary difficult. I must say my outfit was a little lame (all black), but nothing is really WRONG with all black, I personally love it and it is slimming to say the least.

The shows were fun and my girlfriend Kristin pointed out what her job of the week was and it was FASHION POLICE! How fun is that? They all wore trench coats and big shades and made sure everything was running smoothly! I watched Jeanne Beker "tweet" away as the models came down the runway and even saw the photographer from the show "Look-a-like". Kristin and I wanted to find him after the show and tell him to cast us as Cameron Diaz and Anna Kournikova (haha).

Going back to the difficulties of packing! I went up to my chalet this weekend because the lifts were OPEN AND RUNNING! I didn't believe it on my way up since their was not an ounce of snow to be seen, but as I approached the hill, I couldn't believe it! It reached 30 degrees at one point and people were out skiing!! So I struggled to pack ski gear amongst my shorts and sandals, but in the end I ended up rocking my jean shorts and a t-shirt along with my ski boots! It was an experience I will NEVER forget...some girls were even in bikinis (I mean it was definitely do-able but if you took a tumble...OUCH)!

Anyways, I am 9 days away until I go to LA and I must say I am getting a little nervous! I just have to keep myself focused and confident and I know I will have a good time! I have my lunch with the mysterious "Mr. and Mrs. A" tomorrow so I will let everyone know how that goes. Besides that, the packing continues! I am trying to be seriously smart about what I bring (more realistic). I did a huge spring-cleaning-closet-clean-out and gave a huge handful of clothes to my beautiful younger cousins. Although my sister managed to sneak in their before hand and snatch some things away...I wish there was such things as hand-me-ups because my sister has a fabulous wardrobe.

Anyways, I am actually getting a little emotional over leaving as well! Two months is a long time without seeing some of the people you expect to see everyday! So today I say goodbye to my sister and I think I may shed a tear or two which she won't be happy about...luckily their will be no one around for me to embarrass her in front of. GOT TO GO PACK!

They made that show for me!

THE LOS ANGELES GODS ARE ALREADY CALLING MY NAME!

SO I gave in my e-mail in order to hear when they have open casting calls for the best show to be ever created on earth, GLEE! AND GUESS WHAT? THEY ARE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!! ON MYSPACE!!

Could this be a sign? They are looking for me, they know I am out their but they are struggling to see through all the 'gleeks' to find the biggest and best GLEEK OF ALL TIME!! MYSELF!!

I have been skipping around campus all day signing Glee after Glee song...

...and then I read the requirements - YOU NEED TO BE AMERICAN - Well I think Cory Monteith needs some good 'ol Canadian company, don't you? I mean, their is always room for one more foreigner. Right? RIGHT? PLUS I AM ALREADY DOWN THERE.

I can sing and dance like any other American. Actually, I can sing, dance and act BETTER then any of those millions of myspacers that will be auditioning...all 300 million of them...oh goodness...I'm gonna pass out. Well it looks like this whole thing is gonna be a bit harder then I thought...

I will leave you with this...GLEE Defying Gravity

Options?

OK, so I haven't made any NEW options on polyvore but here are some looks that I can pull together. I realize that there is a lot of black, but I like black and black is slimming. There are some more daring looks that may seem a little to 'grown up' for a 20 year old, but I love them regardless (and to be honest, most of these looks were inspired by photos of people taken by the Sartorialist).

I feel like this look is sort of 'safe' but it is a great go to that I can pull together so easily.

Another fun option...I'm just gonna post all of them and if you like one, let me know!

WOW okay so maybe this is TO many options and I have now flooded my page with pictures, but WHATEVER! How is a girl to choose?

Another thing to keep in mind that is is going to be near 20 degrees this week in Toronto (WOO HOO) and since it is basically spring (I saw a robin today so I figured...) I can totally wear white pants or a skirt.

I ALSO have this FABULOUS feathered skirt I would love to wear but they don't have a good enough similarity to it on polyvore, and the options they have do not do this skirt justice. I just thought I would toss that out their as well.

GOOD TIMES IN THE LIBRARY...

LES FILLES, JE T'AIME

Just had a FANTASTIC weekend with some even MORE fantastic girls! I ended up planning a last minute dinner party which turned into and Earth Hour candle lit dinner. Every girl at the table has big plans and big dreams that they wish to accomplish sooner rather then later, in their life.

Firstly, my super hot, beauty of a friend Sabina (you can follow her blog SabinaBabalina, which I have posted on the side) just got back from a trip to L.A. as well and she got me ALL TOO excited for my departure date. Sab models and also really wants to get her career and her beautiful bum out to L.A. full time! She is such a confident girl and met some really cool and fabulous people while she was out there.

Funny story, which she told me about a few nights ago, was our mutual friend Lauren was telling a handful of people that she was her publisher. All of the sudden, people were dishing out their cards like perfume samples! I mean, we don't know who did what and what these people wanted from her, but it was a creative way to put her face out there.

Our NUT of a friend Lauren, (who is also brilliant, fun and just down right hilarious) is currently making all of the girls at our dinner, business cards to hand out like candy at hallowe'en!

Now where do we plan on handing these cards out? Toronto Fashion Week of course (well maybe not actually, but we are certainly going)! Lauren, Sabina and my long-legged friend Kristin are all working backstage and around the shows doing fun shenanigans...I probably shouldn't be saying the following but seeing as I only have 5 followers at the moment...one being my mom - HI MOM - the girls plan on sneaking myself and the rest of our 'Earth Hour Dinner Crew' in, to rub shoulders with the best dressed people in Toronto.

Maybe this will be a bit of a head start and a practice round for my confidence level. I shouldn't be afraid to put out my hand, introduce myself and strike up a conversation (I've done it to Meryl Streep - no word of a lie).

I guess the next question is WHAT TO WEAR? I'll do some research on polyvore.

p.s. I've started packing.

FLIGHTS ARE BEING BOOKED

Well now that my apartment is GUARANTEED my flights are being booked at this exact moment!!

Besides the excitement of my arrival I have already started to build and work on my connections. Easter Monday I am having lunch with Mr. and Mrs. A ... I won't include their last name for I feel it is a bit rude of me to discuss people who are completely unaware of the fact that I am speaking about them. Anyways, there son is a famous Canadian actor, comedian, director...etc. who currently lives in LA with his wife and kids. Mr. and Mrs. A have so sweetly invited me for lunch to discuss my plans and set up some fabulous dinners with fabulous people during my time in California! I am OVERLY grateful that they are doing this for me and really need to think of a clever or nice gift to bring them at lunch (any suggestions?).

I also happen to be reading Mr. A's successful book that has sold more copies then he ever expected, which I think is fabulous! Telling you the title may give away who these people are, especially if you are secretly obsessed with ghost stories as I am (I am a HUGE fan). So if you have a bit of a fetish like I do I would seriously suggest getting off your bum and purchasing, "A History of Ghosts". It is SO fascinating! Hopefully I'll have some interesting stories after the lunch for you (whether it be about ghosts or not).

On another note, I just found out my HILARIOUS friend Lorne is going to be in LA as well! I am ecstatic to have another friend down there so we can be lost and confused and flustered together.

Besides Lorne, one of my oldest friends, Matt has just moved down their to work on his music full time (pending working visa, my fingers are crossed for him too). He is immensely talented ... Matthew Genovese's Myspace

Check him out and SUPPORT! My personal fave is 'Stop Wait Turn Around' (very catchy). I've tried to convince him to write a song about me but apparently my name is too difficult to incorporate into a song... But I can tell you THIS, that he currently wrote a song with SOMEONE from 90210 for that SOMEONE and that SOMEONE is producing it! AH, CONGRATS MATT!

Okay, that is my blurb for the day!

I'm obsessed...

So I should be doing school work, but I am too impatient and TOO excited to get out of this terrible weather. My beautiful friend (and model) told me about this website where you can shop, put outfits together and get suggestions as to what would look good with a studded boot, sequin crop top, WHATEVER.

So after about three hours I came up with about 20 different outfits based on clothes I have, similar clothes I have and my personal style. I think they will all do me well in LA, weather permitting. ALSO, just because I included a Burberry trench, doesn't mean I own one...I would like too...(I can already here Rodeo Drive calling my name). I just needed a trench to complete 'the look'.

I'll include my personal fave's ...

I'M OBSESSED, I may not go buy the $1,500 Mulberry bag, but I mean, the rest won't be hard to do. I've already got the denim.

SO I actually own the shirt and shorts, but can we please talk about that DELICIOUS looking bag?

Can you tell I had SO much fun doing this? People are really good at it, they do backgrounds, have themes and stuff... I was just more straightforward but whatever.

I'm not gonna lie...I own a sequined silver crop top. This look was actually inspired by my friend who showed me the website! I was showing her my new additions to my closet as I have an addiction for online shopping.

You should ALL check out this website, it's really cool.... http://www.polyvore.com

Apartment!

I HAVE BOOKED MY APARTMENT! Things are really coming together for me! I can officially book my flights! Although, I just realized there is no picture of a bathroom and they didn't mention one...HA. I mean, they have to have one, right? Great...well here is my one bedroom, sans bathroom apartment...

It's nice right? I mean, it's clean and white and in the most PERFECT LOCATION in order to get my shopping fix every so often!

And it all starts now...

Well, I am going to admit a few things to you right off the bat, beginning with the fact that I have never done a blog before. I am not from Los Angeles nor have I ever been - I am Canadian, but as it so turns out, I will officially be in LA in 19 days, 7 hours, and 48 minutes...give or take a few. I don't have a solid plan for when I arrive, although I have finally found an apartment in Beverly Hills - about four blocks away from Rodeo Drive. I have few friends out there who won't have much time to see me.

Now at this point it's all sounding sort of lame - minus the fabulous one bedroom apartment in Beverly Hills - but the real reason as to why I am going out there is to pursue my acting career...or just acting (so far there is no career, just my role as Sister Amnesia in my high school's musical - yes, I was a singing nun.) Now I KNOW how unrealistic this career path sounds and I may not be the skinniest of skinny girls out there, but I've got the confidence, the style, and I've been told, a winning smile.

...I just realized I forgot skills...acting skills...yes, hopefully those too...

Now I won't be thanking my orthodontist in my Oscar winning speech for my pearly whites (she hated me anyways) because clearly no one is going to hold me up on a pedestal for smiling pretty. I've got a handful of connections out there that I plan on getting in touch with and I plan on shaking hands with everyone in order to get my name and face out there.

This is my chance to do something, and start a career and be serious about something I love regardless of how difficult it is going to be.

I have 61 days in LA and that's a lot of time to make a good impression on the right people. I just need to be able to trust myself and find something valuable to do with my time there so I can return to the following summer with a more solid game plan.

I am writing this blog pretty much for anyone who is interested. I guess it may become something of a map for people who are wanting to do the same thing as I am. I'm gonna make mistakes and I know others can probably learn from them. It's a big and scary business, and maybe if I write it all down, I can keep track of where I've gone wrong and hopefully, what I am doing right.

Not only will I talk about my acting career...which is currently at ground zero, but I will also talk a lot about fashion. My wardrobe is too big for my closet and my taste is above what my mother and my bank account would enjoy. I've got quite an eye for it and if this acting thing fizzles out, it's what I plan on turning to. But if I'm going to be living in LA I might as well be 'Young, Fabulous and Broke'.

Oh ya, my name is Liv.

Keep your fingers crossed, and hopefully I make it big.
